free business cards

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

A business card often is the first impression you get from someone - understandable that you want to have it perfect!

Perhaps the quality of business cards has lost a little bit of importance. If you remember the 80ies and the business card scene from “American Psycho” you know what I mean ;-)

Nevertheless you still need one if you seriously want to do business. Although in times modern elctronic communication via web and social networks it might be easy to get contact details from anyone you need, you must not forget that giving your card to someone is a little bit of advertising at the same time. So it is imperative to create a card that is catching the eye and looks serious at the same time.

In Germany, where I live you can often see ads for sites where you can create your own business cards for free (kostenlose Visitenkarten gestalten). Are those offers really free? Well, most of the times they are - more or less. In most cases you pay for shipping and handling.

Many of these “almost free” offers only cover a very basic layout and design. The very moment you decide to take one of these “Gratis Visitenkarten”-offers, and want a little more like better printing paper or some other specials you pay for it. On the other hand if you just want to start a test baloon and see what the card you have in mind looks like when it is printed, this offer is for you!

If you are a creative mind and like working with paper, you might as well print and cut your cards yourself, all you need is a good printer and a good cutter. So if you like to do work with paper anyway, perhaps even like to do paper handicrafts (basteln mit Papier, as that is called in german), you just have to get a good graphics program and can start printing yourself!

Mobile Is a Must When Children Have a Mobile Phone!

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I had been taking care of my grandson Justin since the day he was born. Since I was with him almost 24 hours a day, my daughter insisted I get a cell phone as a means of contacting help, if I ever got into trouble, especially since Justin was usually with me in the car. I did a lot of driving and took him with me.

I decided, as a precaution, to get some mobile phone insurance, while I was at it. Being a toddler and playful, he liked to play talk on my mobile phone and often took it without my knowledge. However, I was always able to keep him and the phone within my sight.

I finally found a mobile phone insurance company, recommended to me by a friend, that I also felt comfortable with, and took out a policy on my phone. The coverage was as complete as I could get. It included theft, loss, accidental damage, fraudulent calls were covered and something I did not expect…water damage coverage, and this was not usually covered by most mobile phone insurance companies. Now I felt better about my mobile phone. And did not worry should anything accidently happen to it or I lost it or anything else that might happen.

The weather had gotten very warm and I thought a trip to the seashore would be nice. The trip would take no more than thirty minutes and we could spend the day. So off Justin and I went. Stuffed food basket, mobile phone and any other essential needed.

I always keep my mobile phone clipped to the waistband on my slacks, so that it was always ready at a moment’s notice. We played in the sand and Justin managed to relieve me of my phone. However, he didn’t stop there. As quick as he was to take it, he was that much faster in getting up and running away, down towards the ocean. Being seventy years old, I wasn’t as quick and he reached the water before me.

I reached the water shortly after Justin and found a giggling smiling little imp, but no mobile phone. Yes, you guessed it. The ocean got a very expensive present that day. Thank heavens I was covered for water damage. Something I would never have thought of getting if it had not been the suggestion of my mobile phone insurance agent.

One Way To Avoid Lines - Give Up Smoking

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

The phrase “Smokers Face” was added to the Medical Dictionary in 1985. It refers to the characteristics of wrinkles and lines surrounding the eyes and lips - it also includes the general signs associated with aging, sped along because of smoking.

Despite the media attention and the millions of dollars every year spent on cosmetics and skin wrinkles, many millions more are spent on the single worst habit to exagerate the problem and make dealing with it worse.

Within the medical community and now the population in general, it is accepted that cigarette smoke (in fact any type of smoking) impacts heavily on our health in a negative way However it also directly impacts our skins appearance and through the release of free radicals.

These “imbalanced particles” react with our skin by damaging perfectly healthy cells in the outer layer of skin known as the epidermis The damge they inflict on the skin is cumulative and as a person ages, the combined affect can be significant.

Not only do free radicals which are contained in every puff of smoke which affect our appearance. Smoking just one cigarette depletes the level of Vitamin C stored within the body. This essential vitamin is directly involved in the creation of collagen which is a vital component of healthy looking skin.

Furthermore, Vitamin C is also a powerful anti-oxidant which assist greatly in reducing the effect of free radicals. So not only does the skin lose its ability to renew itself, it also loses a powerful defense against damage in the first instance.

One of the best methods, therefore, of avoiding face wrinkles is to stop smoking and reduce your exposure to environments which are smoky Of course, there are many other important factors which make the cessation of smoking a great boost to your health and general wellbeing. It is of course a better idea not to start in the first place!

How To Succeed At Internet Marketing

Term Life Insurance VS. Whole Life Insurance

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Life insurance can go a long way to securing your family’s financial future if you should pass away prematurely. If you are in the market for life insurance there are many different policy options to choose from but they all fall into two main categories either term life insurance or whole life insurance. Each has their pros and cons. Life insurance is not a one size fits all deal, the perfect option for one person may be completely wrong for someone else.

Term life insurance is considerably less expensive than whole life insurance. You can get a term life insurance quote from a number of different providers in just a few minutes to see what type of rates are available. Term life insurance will be far less expensive than life insurance but it has an expiration date, once you reach the end of the term the policy expires.

Whole life insurance will be a lot more expensive than term life insurance but unlike a term life plan, whole life insurance will never expire. You will be covered for the rest of your life as long as you keep current with your premium payments. To get an idea of what you might expect to pay for whole life insurance you can get a whole life insurance quote from a number of different companies. In addition to the fact that a whole life policy will not expire, it will also accrue a cash value and can be used as an investment vehicle. The cash value will increase tax-deferred and can even be borrowed against if you are in a situation where you needed some quick cash.

There is debate over which type of policy is best. Although a whole life insurance policy never expires and accrues a cash value many experts would argue that you could take the money you save in premium payments by going with a term life policy and invest them yourself at a much better return because he would not have to pay all of the fees and commissions associated with investing through a life insurance policy. Ultimately the decision of which type of policy to go with comes down to the person who is purchasing the policy. Whichever type of policy you decide to go with it’s a good idea to get an online life insurance quote from a number of different providers so that you can quickly and easily compare the amount of coverage you get for your money.

How to run an Ice Hockey Tournament

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

First of all decide what age groups and caliber of teams you want to participate in your ice hockey tournament.  For youth hockey tournaments you will need to decide what teams are most likely to come to your tournament and send out invitations.  It is a good idea to make sure you have made arrangements with some hotels so that you can offer discounts and suggest places to stay.

It is also a good idea to figure out ways in to entice teams to come to your tournament.  Youth hockey teams tend to be led by parents, so think in terms of off-ice activities and arrange something fun that is family oriented.  Adult hockey teams are looking for things like beer in the locker room after games and golf outings.  The prizes tend to be less important becuase many of the players are just on vacation looking to have a good time.  However youth hockey players think the world of prizes and it is extremely important to not overlook this fact.

Hockey tournaments also bring in quite a bit of money for the host city between hotels, restaurants, car rentals, and other activities.  Because of this, many cities will contribute to the marketing of the tournament and may be willing to donate in some way.

It is very important that the tournament has credibility as well.  This means selecting good referees and having a format that is fair to each team. One bad experience and you will lose that team for good.

How to Comparison Shop Online

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

The online shopping industry keeps growing, and more and more products are made available online. You can now find everything and purchase the items you want just with a few clicks.

Use an online shopping directory to find the best online stores and deals. Shopping directories are great when searching for online stores, because they have links to a large variety of sites, and the stores are grouped in categories depending on their region and on the merchandise that they are selling. Some of the online shopping directories also have reviews of the stores that they are linked to, so that you know what to expect from them.

Online shopping can save you a lot of time and money, and the online market keeps growing so if you haven’t tried buying something from an online store, give it a try and you’ll see that it’s much simpler than going to a supermarket. You can order food and clothes for you family in a few minutes and with a few clicks, and you don’t have to leave your home to do it.

Paying online is now pretty simple for the online buyer. Online retailers usually use secure credit card payments for their sites, giving security against card theft, or some sites allow shoppers to use electronic transfer sites such as Paypal to transfer funds to an approved retailer straight from his or her bank account.

Given the state of the economy and the overwhelming increase in oil prices, it makes sense to put your feet up, sit back and let the internet take care of your entire home shopping needs.

Buying journals online - Find good companies

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Subscribing to a magazine is a great way to get your favorite periodical on a regular basis. Nowadays it is possible to buy newspapers and journals online. Doing so will help the customer to get their journal right after it has been published. If you are interested in German newspapers and periodicals, the following site reviews some important online vendors of magazine subscriptions: Zeitschrift Tauchen Abo

What are the advantages of subscribing to your favorite periodical instead of buying it each time it is published, and what are some special rules for buying German magazine subscriptions?

A magazine subscription without minimum duration can be used as a gift itself. If you have chosen the wrong journal and the presentee does not like the specific magazine you can cancel the subscription or switch over to another one. There are companies who offer subscriptions without minimum duration. These can be cancelled at any time or can be switched over to another periodical title. However these non minimum duration subscriptions do not come with valuable gifts. You can simply choose your favorite journal (for example this one: Zeitschrift Sport Bild Abo) and order it online in “no time”. It is important to know that the benefits coming with a new subscription normally cannot be taken by the new subscribers themselves but by the person who recommended the new subscriber. So it is useful to order the new subscription together with a friend or family member. One plays the role of the new subscriber and the other one gets the gift.

The subscriptions normally come with some very nice bonuses. You can get valuable bonuses like money, gift vouchers or electronic devices. These gifts are often worth several months of the subscription rate. Most online sellers of journals offer special gift subscriptions. These are a very good idea for everybody who is looking for a nice birthday or wedding present. Virtually any newspaper or magazine can be bought online. So everybody should be able to find their favorite one quickly and easily.

Why you need to buy Wood Baby Toys

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

For years now after the manufacturing boom in countries like China, the preference for parents in purchasing toys has been plastic. But times are now different. Nowadays there seems to be a toy recall almost every day because of possible lead or chocking hazards. Today the shift has been towards locally produced wood toys.

In days past, wood toys were the only choice, although after time they seem to go out of fashion because they were large and cumbersome. Today wood or often referred to as natural toys are stylishly designed and include many product lines for different age groups.  From play sets to activity centers to trikes these toys are manufactured with not only baby and toddler in mind but parent’s peace of mind. Wood toys are thoroughly tested to be safe for children. Natural toys have no artificial chemicals or dyes. An added benefit is they are very durable. They are also very easy to clean and maintain with less risk of being contaminated with bacteria or viruses.

Many of these manufactures are labeled as producing organic toys, being socially and environmentally responsible. Many of these toys are hand produced; making sure attention to detail is kept. And without mass production of these toys the highest standards are kept.

Wood toys are created for children of any age. The problem parents find, is that baby or teething toddlers time and again put them in their mouth or may even bite them. Unfortunately this is a phase with most children.
