Not so long ago, I was married, had two children, a beautiful house, and a very loving husband. Actually it was a long time ago, twenty years. Nowadays it’s just me, my children have moved out and on their own and my husband passed away a few years ago.

I taught elementary school for a long time, and hopefully touched the lives of many of my students. I enjoy running into my former students just about everywhere I go. It’s one of those joyful lifelong experiences that keep giving.

My biggest hobby is gardening, and the joy of watching my plants grow. The best part about teaching was having the summers off to enjoy my hobby.

My backyard isn’t big, but I do have enough room for just about everything I need, including tomatoes. Every morning, I slip on my Muck Boots Garden Shoes and head out to take inventory. I can’t describe how calm I feel walking through my garden. Naturally my kids are my biggest accomplishment in life, but this does come close.

My neighbor Tracy bought me these Muck Boot shoes that were specifically made for walking on top of fertilizer, trouncing through the mud, and staying put when walking on wet surfaces. They come in brown so you can’t even tell if they are dirty. For gardening, they work the best.
